We spoke to Michelle Broom, <b>Grains & Legumes Nutrition Council dietitian and Nutrition Program Manager,</b> who gave us more reasons to love toast, muesli and brown rice again.</strong></em> <b>Get shinier hair</b> <b>“</b>Zinc is essential for making the proteins required for ongoing renewal of hair and nails, keeping your hair in top form and your nails strong,” says Broom. <b>Get sparkling eyes</b> “Whole grains contain vitamin B2 which is used by the body to form enzymes that are essential for maintaining luminous skin and eyes.” <b>Get stronger teeth</b> “Magnesium, found in whole grains, is a key part of the building blocks for teeth and bones, keeping your teeth healthy and strong.” <b>Get a faster metabolism</b> “Metabolism is the word used to explain all the chemical reactions occurring in your body to maintain a healthy body inside and out. Whole grains contain a number of nutrients essential to this process including magnesium, B vitamins and zinc.” <b>Get more energy </b> “Whole grain foods assist people in maintaining energy levels as they contain iron which helps fight fatigue and B vitamins which unlock metabolism. Some whole grains like oats and barley also contain soluble fibre which helps to even out the energy spikes and dips in a person's day.” <b>What do you do to keep energised throughout the day?</b>
